about

From school readiness to life skills

At MET Phys, we believe every child and young person deserves the chance to grow with confidence, independence, and joy. Our programs are designed to support kids, teens, and young adults at different stages of life, from preparing for school, to navigating high school, to building practical life skills for everyday independence.

What makes our programs unique is the blend of professional guidance and a supportive, small-group environment. With experienced health professionals leading the way, each session is designed to be engaging, practical, and tailored to the needs of participants.

Little Learners Club

Preparing for school is an exciting milestone, and our Little Learners Club gives children the chance to grow in confidence before starting Prep. In a safe and supportive environment, young learners build social and interpersonal skills, develop fine motor abilities, and practice teamwork and cooperation.

They also learn to regulate emotions, recognise letters and numbers, and engage with learning tasks that encourage independence. Each session is designed to help children feel comfortable, capable, and ready to shine as they begin their schooling journey.

Brick Legends

Brick Legends is our playful and engaging LEGO therapy program for kids aged 6–14 years. Using the power of LEGO, children work together in small groups of just three to four participants, ensuring plenty of individual attention and support. Each session combines fun building activities with opportunities to grow social skills, teamwork, creativity, and imagination.

Along the way, children also strengthen fine and gross motor skills and practice emotional regulation in a safe and enjoyable environment. Sessions run weekly for one hour during the school term, making it a fun and consistent way to develop important life skills while making new friends.

LEGO Serious Play

LEGO Serious Play is a powerful therapeutic intervention tool, through guided building, storytelling, and metaphor play for individuals in the mental health and/or disability sector.

MET Phys is introducing a LEGO Serious Play group with a certified facilitator to share ideas, assumptions, understandings, and to engage storytelling and discussion to share perspectives, explore ideas and work out solutions to real problems.

This “hands on, minds off” group or individual experience provides a unique way to develop new thinking and is effective for trauma therapy, decreasing depression and mood disorders through insightful and honest discussion, which can open up new perspectives.

Confidence, skills, and strategies for the next big step

Pre-teens Life Skills Group

Starting high school is a big step, and our Pre-Teens Life Skills Group helps upper primary students feel confident and ready for the transition. In this small and supportive environment, children learn how to solve problems, navigate social situations, organise and use timetables, and explore different learning styles.

They’ll also practice study strategies and prepare for the new routines and expectations of high school, while recognising and appreciating differences in others. This group is all about building independence and resilience, so your child can enter high school feeling equipped for success.
